Kristin Young

Dr. Kristin Young joined Waukee-Clive Veterinary Clinic as an Associate DVM in June of 2005. As an Iowa State University grad, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Zoology in 1994 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Prior to joining WCVC she practiced in the Quad Cities, Johnston, Des Moines, and Apple Valley, Minnesota. In 2000 an interesting internal medicine case led her to publishing an article, “Roqueforton Toxicity in Dogs” JVMA 2001.

As a single mother, working full time, one of her greatest accomplishments is her children. Brianna is heading to ISU to study premed biology. August stays active playing sports and Xbox. They enjoy living the country life west of Adel. She currently has two labs Sugar and Layla, and also enjoys having goats and chickens but her heart is full from the many prints left behind from her previous dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks, pet pigs. In her free time, she loves to be outside. When she isn’t hiking, kayaking, or walking the paths on her property with her dogs and goats, you can find her playing cribbage, and putting together puzzles.  After her father lost his battle to cancer in February 2023, she inherited his shop smith tools and plans on starting some woodworking projects soon.
